Unlike various civilian jobs where employees receive a paycheck on specific days of the month, military pay dates fluctuate due to weekends and holidays. For example, May’s mid-month pay occurs on May 13 because May 15 is a Sunday.
For bill paying and budgeting purposes, here are the military paydays for calendar year 2011:

Mid-Month Payday: January 14
End of Month Pay: February 1
February
Mid-Month Payday: February 15
End of Month Pay: March 1
March
Mid-Month Payday: March 15
End of Month Pay: April 1
April
Mid-Month Payday: April 15
End of Month Pay: April 29
May
Mid-Month Payday: May 13
End of Month Pay: June 1
June
Mid-Month Payday: June 15
End of Month Pay: July 1

Mid-Month Payday: July 15

End of Month Pay: September 1

Mid-Month Payday: September 15
End of Month Pay: Tentatively September 30. (Because October 1 falls on a Saturday and September 30 is the end of the fiscal year the pay date of September 30 must be approved by the Secretary of Defense.)

Mid-Month Payday: October 14
End of Month Pay: November 1

Mid-Month Payday: November 15
End of Month Pay: December 1
