Christmas Trees for Deployed Troops

Family members wanting to send a live Christmas tree to their deployed loved one can do so through Operation Christmas Tree.

A $25 donation covers the cost of the tree, lights, decorations, packaging and shipping. The deadline to purchase trees for Christmas 2010 is November 22.

The program, sponsored by Support Military Heroes, isn't limited to military families. Anyone wishing to send a tree to a deployed Soldier, Sailor, Airmen or Marine is welcome to do so.

When filling out the order form, individuals have the option of donating to a specific servicemember by supplying their name and address; or they may leave the recipients area blank and the organization will choose a name from their list.

Volunteers Needed
On Saturday, November 27, 2010, organizers will pack and prepare all trees for shipment. If you live in the Westminster, Maryland area and would like to help, please report to the Carroll County AG Center located at:
706 Agricultural Drive
Westminster, Maryland 21157

The event begins at 8 a.m. and will continue until every tree is packaged and ready for shipment.
