Free Online Tutoring for Military Kids

Military kids in need of a tutor now have access to free online tutoring at Tutor.com. The program, sponsored by the Department of Defense, aims to provide educational help to military kids in grades K-12.

Kids of active duty servicemembers - to include children of active duty Reserve personnel and members of the National Guard called to active duty - are eligible to partake in the program.

Subjects Covered
Professional tutors are available 24/7 to help military kids with homework, test preparations and writing a paper. The tutoring is held in an online classroom which allows the student and tutor to chat about the material. Students also have the option of uploading a document for the tutor to view.

Tutors are available to students seeking assistance in the following subjects:


  • Elementary and Middle Grade Math
  • Algebra I
  • Algebra II
  • Geometry
  • Trigonometry
  • Calculus
  • Statistics

  • Earth Science
  • Biology
  • Chemistry

    Social Studies
    Tutors are available to help K-12 students that are seeking help with social studies subject matter.

    In order to take advantage of the tutoring services, students will need to have one of the following browsers installed on their computer: Internet Explorer 6.0 or higher, Apple Safari version 3.0 or Mozilla Firefox 2.0. Prior to the beginning of a session students will be prompted to install a free plug-in called Microsoft Silverlight.
