By Kim Wilson:

My military roots sprouted long before my birth. As a newlywed, my grandmother endured a 22-month separation when my grandfather shipped out on the USS Topeka. Two decades later, the saga continued when my mother gave birth to me while my Navy Seabee father fought in Vietnam.

Fast forward many years, and a soldier captured my heart. Not only did I become an Army wife, but I married into a military and law enforcement family. Between both families, a loved one has served, or is serving, in the Army, Navy, Air Force and Marine Corps.

The knowledge and wisdom I've gleaned from my grandmother, mother, mother-in-law and sister's-in law proves invaluable as I navigate my way through the military way of life.

Like my predecessors, it's my goal to assist and support servicemembers and their loved ones, hopefully making their journey as a military family easier than that of previous generations.
